چکیده

With the increasing number of services, the need to locate relevant services remains essential. To satisfy the query of a service requester, available service providers has first to be discovered. This task has been heavily investigated from both industrial and academic perspectives based essentially on registers. However, they completely ignore the contribution of the social dimension. When integrating social trust dimension to service discovery, this task will gain wider credibility and acceptance. If a service requester knows that discovered services are offered by trustworthy providers, he will be more confident. In this paper, we present a new discovery technique based on a social trust measure that ranks service providers belonging to the service requester’s multirelation social network. The proposed measure is an aggregation of three measures: the social position, the social proximity and the social similarity. To compute these measures, we take into account both semantic and structural knowledge extracted from the multi-relation social network. Semantic information includes service requestor and provider profiles and their interactions. Structural information includes among other the position of service providers in the multi-relation social network graph.

A Multi-Agent Approach for Trust-based Service Discovery and Selection in Social Networks

Service discovery and selection approaches are often done using a centralized registry-based technique, which only captures common Quality of Service criteria. With more and more services offered via social networks, these approaches are not able to evaluate trust in service providers and often fail to comply with new requester’s expectations. This is because theses approaches are not able (i) ...

Towards Agent-based and Trust-oriented Service Discovery Approach in Social Networks

Service discovery has been adopted in distributed environments and recently in social networks. Existing approaches for service discovery are often based on matching techniques, which only capture common quality of service (QoS) criteria while ignoring the contribution of the social aspect. The discovery problem increases when the number of available services is important and no means to distin...

Merging Similarity and Trust Based Social Networks to Enhance the Accuracy of Trust-Aware Recommender Systems

In recent years, collaborative filtering (CF) methods are important and widely accepted techniques are available for recommender systems. One of these techniques is user based that produces useful recommendations based on the similarity by the ratings of likeminded users. However, these systems suffer from several inherent shortcomings such as data sparsity and cold start problems. With the dev...

Cluster Based Cross Layer Intelligent Service Discovery for Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks

The ability to discover services in Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a major prerequisite. Cluster basedcross layer intelligent service discovery for MANET (CBISD) is cluster based architecture, caching ofsemantic details of services and intelligent forwarding using network layer mechanisms. The cluster basedarchitecture using semantic knowledge provides scalability and accuracy. Also, the mini...

Prediction of user's trustworthiness in web-based social networks via text mining

In Social networks, users need a proper estimation of trust in others to be able to initialize reliable relationships. Some trust evaluation mechanisms have been offered, which use direct ratings to calculate or propagate trust values. However, in some web-based social networks where users only have binary relationships, there is no direct rating available. Therefore, a new method is required t...
